Thanks to Suzanne Dorrance for creating this cool new logo from a photo of Chase and me.
Here are some coming events:
1.The Golden State Versatility Ranch Horse Association kicks into high gear with its second event at Sparrowk Land and Livestock on April 23 and 24. Entries for this event must be sent in immediately. This is a great event in a real ranch setting. I will be one of the clinicians and judges. Go to gsvrha.org to download the show flier and entries.
2. May 14 and 15, then May 28 and 29, mark two of the most important events of the year for Versatility enthusiasts. The first is the Central Coast Ranch Horse Classic at our very own Carmel Valley Trail and Saddle Club. Go to cvtsc.org or saddleupenterprises to download entries for this AQHA sanctioned event. Our show has long been recognized as one of the most prestigious and well-attended Versatilities in the nation. This year, Sunday’s competition is also AQHA sanctioned. Youth and Limited riders are now eligible to gain AQHA points and qualify for World competition. Then, two weeks later, the second event in the Cal Coast series is the newly named Silicon Valley Classic (formerly in Woodside). This is also a two-day AQHA sanctioned event. Anyone who enters BOTH events is eligible to win a beautiful Cal Coast series buckle for having the highest number of placement points over the combined shows. Buckles will be given in Open, Amateur, Limited, and Youth. Non-quarter horses are eligible for all awards. Go to Saddleupenterprises for entries to the Silicon Valley Classic. Let’s see if Clifford Horse Training can bring home some of these beautiful awards and points.
3. Right in between the two Cal Coast Circuit shows, on May 20,21, and 22, The Trail and Saddle Club is offering a unique clinic opportunity. Carolyn Hunt (wife of Ray Hunt) and Jaton Lord (grandson of Ray Hunt) will give a three day clinic. Carolyn will offer horsemanship in the mornings while Jaton will offer reined cow horse in the afternoon. This clinic is limited to 15 riders with a discount to Trail and Saddle Club Members. I am recommending this clinic to all Clifford Horse Training riders. Get more information and register at cvtsc.org. Opportunities such as this will not come our way often.
