Competing at the State Fair is Always an Adventure….

IMG950057Kim Schnittger came to Sacramento with me, competing in the Limited.  I love this photo of Utah’s ears, as he experiences the thrills of the State Fair.  Kim and Utah did well, continuing their streak of winning the Working Ranch.  They were also second in the cutting, completing what I thought was their best herd work together.  They were third in Trail as they continue to work on their hardest event.  I was extremely proud of them for winning third in an OPEN Ranch Horse Pleasure class that was held in the middle of the day.  To make the day even more adventurous, we had to move to a different arena after the cattle classes were over.   That meant loading our horses and driving around to the other side of Cal Expo, all in temperatures over 100 degrees.  But we did it in style!
