Lincoln was a wonderful show, well organized by Chris Bugenig and Sarah Kennedy. Once again, we found ourselves galloping through an oak-studded pasture and crossing a wide stream in the Trail class. Even Ranch Riding took place in the wide open spaces. I was delighted with Cat Like Pare (Margaret’s wonderful Cotton). He has developed into such a solid horse, winning four of the five Open classes.
Grace Ferguson had a wonderful show. With only a week of practicing, she was second in Trail and third in Working Ranch. I will miss her so much!
Once again, Kim Schnittger and Utah won the Novice Working Ranch. They are now three for three wins in that class. They also fulfilled their goal of improving in Trail.
Here, Cotton shows how to produce a solid run in Working Ranch. This was a very small arena, requring that the cow be handled carefully in order to make it down the fence. Cotton has only been down the fence a few times in competition, and he handled it like a champ.
