I was about 20 yards from this large, dead tree, about to pass beneath it (riding Piper), when it fell in front of me. The sound was deafening! Needless to say, Piper (and Twister, in the end paddock), were shocked. But both were very sensible about it. We are already in the process of removing the tree.
After entering 12 western dressage enthusiasts in Sunday’s show, it looks as though there is a good chance of cancellation. The call will be made on Friday night or Saturday morning. Stay tuned, and don’t despair. The next show is February 10. It’s been fun (and good for us and our horses) to prepare.
