Western Dressage, Anyone?

Yes, I have realized that we have yet another way to make our winter productive and to keep our competitive juices flowing.  The Carmel Valley Chapter of the California Dressage Society is offering classes in Western Dressage at their Trail and Saddle Club schooling shows. Working on this discipline can only help your reining, ranch riding, and general horsemanship. And it’s fun! Those who wish to work on it are not doing this exclusively….we are continuing to work on all our other events as well. But most have already seen improvement in their lead changes, collection, etc.
The first show is next Sunday (December 2) at the Trail and Saddle Club. We have a large contingent planning to attend, and I can prepare most riders in less than a week. These are low-key schooling shows where learning and improving are the priorities of the day.  If you wish to attend, call Paula Langan at 659-5696 or Julia Batchev at 659-4001. You can also go to the Trail and Saddle Club website and click on “schedule.”
This is Margaret Pare and Cotton performing a “test.”
